Before you start

Connect your assistant

  1. In your assistant, add a custom connector or remote MCP server.
  2. Enter the server URL https://api.howwe.io/v1/mcp.
  3. Sign in to Howwe when the login window opens, and approve the connection.
  4. The first time, you are shown Howwe's Terms of Service. Continue to finish connecting.
  5. Ask something, for example "What are my most important goals in Howwe right now?"

To disconnect, remove the connector in your assistant's settings. Your organisation's administrator can also remove your Howwe access, which ends the assistant's access at the same time.

Examples

Prepare for the week. "Which of my activities in Howwe are due this week, and which are late?" The assistant reads your assignments and activities and lists them by deadline.

Get the picture of an initiative. "Summarise the status of the initiative Expand in Norway, including milestones and the teams contributing." The assistant reads the initiative tree with milestones, supporting initiatives and contributing teams.

Turn a meeting into action. "Create three activities for the Sales team from these notes, owned by me, due Friday." The assistant proposes the activities. You approve, and they are created in Howwe.

Report progress. "Report 1.2 MSEK as this month's actual on our goal for new ARR." The assistant finds the goal, shows what it will report, and records the value when you approve.

Prepare a Strategy Stand-up. "What did the Product team commit to at the last Strategy Stand-up, and what is done?" The assistant reads the team's most recent Strategy Stand-ups and the commitments made there.

Tools

Read tools only read data. Write tools change data in Howwe, and your assistant asks you before it uses them, according to its own settings.

Note. The tools below show what the server offers today. We add and improve tools over time, so this list may not always be complete or up to date. Your assistant always gets the current list of tools from the server when it connects.

add_team_member, remove_team_member Put a user on a team with their roles, or take them off it

These tools follow your role in Howwe, as in the app. Only users whose role allows it can add users, change team members or change other people's details.

Every change made through the server is made by your account, appears in Howwe as your own, and follows the same rules as a change in the app. Changes are protected against overwriting: if someone else has changed an item since the assistant read it, the change is refused and the assistant reads it again.
